What’s New This Week
✨ Article of the Week: World Parkinson’s Day 2025: what’s happening this year?
“Wherever you live, join in with the rest of the Parkinson’s community and raise awareness for World Parkinson’s Day 2025 by taking part in one of the special events on or around 11 April.”
📚Book of the Week: Moving Mountains: Writing Nature through Illness and Disability - Louise Kenward
“A first-of-its-kind anthology of nature writing by authors living with chronic illness and physical disability
Through twenty-five pieces, the writers of Moving Mountains offer a vision of nature that encompasses the close up, the microscopic, and the vast.
From a single falling raindrop to the enormity of the north wind, this is nature experienced wholly and acutely, written from the perspective of disabled and chronically ill authors.
Moving Mountains is not about overcoming or conquering, but about living with and connecting, shifting the reader's attention to the things easily overlooked by those who move through the world untroubled by the body that carries them.”
🎥 Video of the Week: Dance Party!
“Date & Location & Information will be provided in a week or two (End of March 2025-Beginning April). For those living in the San Francisco Bay Area spread the word and let me know if you are down to get down on the dance floor at the very first Mingle Meet & Move Dance Party!! Woot Woot!! It will be a great way to get off your bootie and shake it instead. No worries if you can't dance....it will be like karaoke, everyone will love you no matter what!!! The inspiration is linked down below and idea is to meet other people with Parkinson's face to face, to have some fun, and Mingle, Meet, & Move 🥰 Throw your own party if you can't make it!!!”
