Hello you wonderfully brave (and possibly mildly unhinged) lot,
Well, this was a damn sight harder than I thought! Turns out building a directory while wrangling a Parkinson’s brain is a bit like trying to herd cats… on roller skates… in fog. My mind might be dodgy at times, but my determination? Unstoppable (though frequently distracted by…ooh, fly).
Handshake is growing, slowly but surely, thanks to your support and my occasional flashes of clarity. Every blog, podcast, and video we add feels like a tiny victory—a community coming together, one link at a time. It’s messy, it’s a little chaotic, but isn’t that how the best things start?
The vision is simple: a hub of voices that makes you laugh, cry, think, and sometimes swear loudly in solidarity. With your help—submissions, ideas, or just cheering me on from the sidelines—we’re building something truly fab here. Let’s keep going, keep adding, and make this the kind of community that anyone would feel lucky to stumble upon.
Now, grab a cuppa (or something stronger), and let’s dive into this week’s highlights.
What’s New in Handshake
Here’s what’s happening on the hub this week. Click around, stay awhile, and discover something new:
Featured Newsletter: “Parkinson's, reflections on the first six months, and recommendations” – What
has learned, gained and lost in the six months since diagnosis.
🔗 ReadPodcast of the Week: The Secret Life of Parkinson’s has some thoughts about dancing in the New Year and more.
🔗 ListenVideo Spotlight: “Freezing of Gait (FOG) with Parkinson's is one of the most frustrating symptoms of the disease. Because I have been experiencing more episodes of FOG I did some digging and discovered a possible side effect that is still being debated but that I had never heard of…”
unpacks it all here.

P.S. If this made you smile, nod, or yell “yes!” at your screen, share it with someone who needs a bit of what we’re building here. The more, the merrier!
Also, quick reminder...I'm a one-parky-wobbly-show...all entries take time as I add them! I will get to yours - promise :)
